The President of the Council and Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Faure Gnassingbé, conducted an inspection visit to the Koundjoaré Operation zone in northern Togo on 7 May 2026. The purpose of the trip was twofold: to assess the security situation and to boost morale among troops tackling terrorism threats in the region.
During the visit, the Supreme Head of the Armed Forces attended a strategic briefing at the Command Post. He then proceeded to the forward operating base in Tchamonga—a key position within the security framework—to engage directly with frontline soldiers.
