Richard Duke Buchan III, the United States Ambassador to Rabat, expressed his profound honor in welcoming elected representatives from Morocco’s Southern Provinces. In a statement posted on the X platform late on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Ambassador Buchan III conveyed his gratitude: “We extend our thanks to our partners from Laâyoune and Dakhla for their attendance at the ceremony marking 250 years of United States independence, and for their unwavering commitment to peace and the region’s future.”
