The Chadian government is doubling down on its crackdown against human trafficking, with a sharp focus on protecting women and children. A nationwide circular has been dispatched to security and justice officials, reinforcing the urgency of this mission and outlining mandatory enforcement procedures.

Human trafficking remains one of the most egregious human rights violations, often involving heinous acts such as sexual exploitation and forced labor. Since ratifying the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime in 2009, Chad has adopted robust legal frameworks, including Ordinance Nº006/PR/2018 and Law Nº12/PR/2018, to combat this scourge.

Authorities are now urged to accelerate investigations, compile detailed reports, and ensure all cases are promptly transferred to competent courts. Cases must also be systematically reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission to Combat Human Trafficking for rigorous monitoring and follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with overseeing strict compliance with these directives. This coordinated effort aims to establish a comprehensive national database, laying the groundwork for a more effective anti-trafficking strategy across Chad.
