The Côte d’Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-CI) recently launched the second edition of the International Suppliers and Investors Fair of Africa (SIFIA 2026) at Plateau, centered on the theme: ‘Connecting businesses, creating markets, and accelerating growth.’ The event kickoff featured an interactive business networking session that brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and key partners.

SIFIA 2026 aims beyond traditional trade fairs

Marc Ekressin, General Commissioner of SIFIA, underscored the event’s transformative potential. ‘Today isn’t about discussing a trade fair—it’s about your business growth,’ he emphasized. He challenged participants to leave with tangible outcomes: new clients, strategic partnerships, signed contracts, and expanded market access.

Measurable success from the first edition fuels high expectations

Backed by strong results from its inaugural run, SIFIA 2026 builds on solid ground. The previous edition drew 130 exhibitors, 1,700 qualified visitors, 17 partnerships, five international companies establishing operations in Côte d’Ivoire, and over 4.5 billion West African CFA francs in generated business volume.

SIFIA IAPA: a year-round bridge for business matchmaking

The organizers are spotlighting SIFIA IAPA—a dedicated facilitation service designed to operate before, during, and after the event. This service identifies business needs, connects prospects with partners, arranges business meetings, and ensures post-event follow-up. ‘Every meeting should lead to a contract,’ Ekressin noted.

Public and financial sectors urged to support SMEs

Ekressin also called on government authorities and banks to deepen their support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He advocated for financing solutions better aligned with the operational realities of these businesses, ensuring they can fully participate in and benefit from the fair.

Entrepreneurs urged to plan strategically

Addressing business leaders directly, Ekressin urged proactive participation: ‘Don’t just book a booth—secure your growth.’ He encouraged companies to view SIFIA 2026 not as a one-time event, but as a catalyst for long-term development and market expansion.

With a renewed focus on turning business connections into actionable opportunities, SIFIA 2026 is positioned to further strengthen ties between enterprises, investors, and partners across Africa. The goal remains clear: convert networking into growth and drive forward the private sector in Côte d’Ivoire and beyond.
