During a high-level meeting in Rabat, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Alibek Kuantyrov, highlighted Morocco’s strategic importance as a key partner for Astana. Speaking alongside Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, he emphasized the strong potential for deepening bilateral trade and investment ties.

Kuantyrov underscored Kazakhstan’s eagerness to import Moroccan goods directly, bypassing intermediaries to access premium-quality products from the Kingdom. This approach, he noted, would reduce costs and streamline supply chains, benefiting businesses on both sides.

Kazakhstan also expressed interest in ramping up exports of wheat, finished goods, and other commodities to Morocco, reflecting a shared vision for mutual economic growth. Both nations reaffirmed their political alignment on global issues and pledged continued support in international forums.

Minister Mezzour echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He pointed out Kazakhstan’s abundant resources—including natural gas, grains, and meat—which Morocco urgently needs to bolster its food security, stabilize prices, and ease the financial burden on households.

In a joint statement, the delegations committed to fostering a sustainable, direct trade partnership that prioritizes reliable supply chains, investment security, and long-term collaboration.
