During the inauguration of Pastef’s new headquarters in Mbacké, party president Ousmane Sonko delivered a powerful appeal for cohesion among his political officials. He issued a stern caution against internal rivalries, emphasizing their potential to undermine the party’s momentum. Addressing the cadres of his political movement directly, the Pastef leader underscored the critical importance of maintaining unity, which he asserted is the sole guarantee for prevailing in future political struggles.

Sonko acknowledged that individual ambition is not inherently negative but cautioned that it becomes detrimental when it jeopardizes collective unity and the party’s operational effectiveness. Confident in Pastef’s widespread popular support, Ousmane Sonko stated that the party remains robust, backed by an estimated 70% of the population. Consequently, he believes Pastef has no significant external adversaries to fear. For him, the most considerable risk stems from within the party itself, which informed his strong emphasis on the individual and collective responsibility of its leaders.

The President of the National Assembly urged officials to collaborate closely and unitedly confront upcoming challenges. He also issued a clear warning: should this unity falter, he would not hesitate to assume his responsibilities and make necessary decisions, a statement that suggests the possibility of sanctions or internal structural adjustments within the party.
