The Republic of Chad has been chosen as the guest of honor for the 54th edition of Cameroon’s National Day parade, a milestone event set for May 20, 2026, in Yaoundé and throughout the country.

Honoring Unity and Strength

Known locally as Fête de l’Unité, this annual celebration pays tribute to national cohesion and remains one of Cameroon’s most significant institutional and patriotic events. For 2026, the official theme is « National Unity: The Foundation of Our Defense and the Bedrock of Cameroon’s Development ».

A Grand Display of Patriotism

Yaoundé will host a spectacular civil and military parade featuring defense and security forces, schools, youth organizations, and key societal groups. Parallel celebrations will unfold across all Cameroonian regions, ensuring nationwide participation.

New Traditions for a Unified Celebration

The Ministry of Youth has introduced groundbreaking initiatives for this year’s festivities. Highlights include a nationwide cultural diversity carnival and an extended week-long celebration to bring the festivities closer to local communities.
