Cameroun: André Noël Essian installs over 20 top officials appointed by Théodore Datouo
At Cameroon’s National Assembly, Secretary General André Noël Essian has officially installed over 20 senior officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.
Following the opening of the second ordinary session of the 2026 legislative year, Secretary General André Noël Essian presided over the ceremony to install more than 20 high-ranking officials nominated by President Théodore Datouo.
These senior executives have been promoted to positions within the questure and the general secretariat of the National Assembly. With this ceremony, they now officially assume their duties within the nation’s representative body.
Since his election as president of the National Assembly in March, MP Théodore Datouo has made numerous appointments. However, these nominations have not been unanimously welcomed. Critics accuse the successor of Cavaye Yeguié Djibril of failing to respect regional balance.
