Five minors dressed in military uniforms appeared in a video circulating on social media, making critical remarks about the head of state and state institutions. In response, the N’Djamena court of first instance prosecutor’s office provided an update on the case.

The minors were questioned by judicial police in the presence of their parents, in line with juvenile justice procedures. The prosecutor’s office stressed that the investigation is ongoing and that all evidence must be reviewed objectively, respecting the presumption of innocence and due process.

While acknowledging that minors require special protection, the judicial authority emphasized that this does not rule out possible responsibility. It also highlighted the need to balance education, rehabilitation, and the preservation of public order. Media outlets and social media users were urged to protect the minors’ anonymity and dignity by refraining from sharing content that could identify them.
