Senate Leader Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Backs President Tshisekedi’s Push for Referendum Law and National Dialogue
On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Senate President Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, as the moral authority of the political alliance Agissons et bâtissons (AB), convened a high-level meeting at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Bandal. The gathering brought together the alliance’s Presidium members, national deputies, senators, party secretaries-general, and executive secretaries for an evening of discussions.
This long-awaited exchange, held as the extraordinary parliamentary session concluded and lawmakers prepared for recess, centered on two critical topics: an assessment of the alliance’s progress and an analysis of pressing national issues, particularly the referendum law and ongoing dialogue efforts.
Following robust deliberations, the AB alliance reaffirmed its commitment to internal cohesion, both among elected officials and the Presidium, as well as between legislators and government representatives. The alliance ultimately decided to fully endorse President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi’s efforts to advance the referendum law and foster national dialogue.
