Addressing a packed audience at the King Fahd Palace in Dakar, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye officially introduced Kiiraay: the Republican Patriots, a new political party rooted in the protection of Senegal’s institutions, values, and future generations.

Speaking to thousands of supporters—some gathered inside the hotel’s grand hall while others watched under a tent on the premises—Faye emphasized that national unity must transcend political divisions. “We may disagree today, but we remain brothers forever,” he declared, framing patriotism as a higher calling than personal ambition.

The president’s remarks carried a clear message to his critics, though he did not name them directly. “From now on, no warmonger will disrupt the peace or the ambition of Senegalese citizens to serve their country better,” he stated, a remark widely interpreted as a pointed reference to his former ally and current National Assembly President, Ousmane Sonko.

Kiiraay’s launch signals a bold step in Senegal’s political landscape, with Faye positioning the party as a unifying force dedicated to safeguarding the republic’s integrity and inherited values.
